Artist Reception - Nicole Mosher

 Nicole Mosher

Nicole Mosher

Come to the taproom see current installation of mix-media  by local artist, Nicole Mosher.

Nicole Mosher has lived and loved in SW Colorado for more than two decades. She works in various mediums, including found object sculpting and design, painting with acrylic and oil on glass, etching, and abstract photography, using her camera lens as if it were a pencil. Other than cropping or rotating, the smaller pieces are intentionally ‘drawn’ using a single shot. A dancing couple, elephants, crocodiles, and horses oh my!  Cotton prints take this idea a bit further by mirroring the image and creating patterns. With this abstract series she reveals her passion for capturing light, whether from the sun, the moon, or electric with color.

Music: People We Know

Originally a collective of musicians from Durango and Northern La Plata County, People We Know has solidified into a core group of musicians. Featuring members of existing Durango groups The Outskirts and The Fellowship of the Strings, the group brings a new take on string music. They explore the limits of bluegrass covers, while taking a new approach to the genre in their original compositions.

The band, comprised of Alex Forsthoff, Jeffrey Berman, Aaron Cooklin, Craig Feigenbaum, and Mark Walser, will take you on a musical ride from all ends of the bluegrass spectrum. A show will go from up-tempo, foot stomping, hollering bluegrass, to slower ballads from the heart. Join us!

Music: Sway Wild

Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer joined forces in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2010 before relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2012. Known as a standout electric guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Mandy Fer is unafraid to dominate the stage for an extended guitar solo, defying long-held gender barriers for female guitarists. Dave McGraw's emotional songwriting riffs on natural elements of the world around him. McGraw spent a decade as a wildlife biologist, studying endangered birds in remote locales from the deserts of Mexico and the Grand Canyon to the mountainous rainforests of Washington.

Together, their exceptional vocal harmonies coupled with Fer’s pioneering electric guitar work have become a vehicle to carry them around the world. The pair has honed their skills touring extensively throughout the US and Europe, sharing stages with fellow troubadours including Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard, Gregory Alan Isakov, Kelly Joe Phelps, Birds of Chicago and many others. Winning over audiences anywhere from Alaska to Amsterdam, McGraw and Fer are harnessing much more than just the sun and wind with the worldwide release of their new album, Off-Grid Lo-Fi, on June 24th, 2016.
