DANCE MONKEY DANCE!

featuring Doug Dicharry

Dance Monkey Dance! was formed out of the necessity to create. Doug Dicharry spent years honing his chops in a successful international touring band, but needed to get back to his roots and rediscover his love for playing music. Even while becoming a talented multi-intsrumentalist (drums, trombone, trumpet, mandolin, washboard, spoons), he decided to pick up the guitar and has been obsessively writing songs since.

The guitar laid the foundation for what would become the core of DMD, but Doug craved a driving beat….so he built the STOMPSTAGE. It’s an amplified mobile stage, which creates two unique percussive sounds: *boom – crack!* With soulful vocals, percussive guitar, loop rigs and the steady stompstage backbeat, he has penned an evolving repertoire of songs.

Dance Monkey Dance! is the perfect name, because this monkey is literally dancing while playing for you.

Live Music: Birds of Play

The Birds of Play is a musical collaboration born from a mutual love of desert canyons, raging rivers, rocky mountaintops, and juice picnics.  After many years of gatherings that have revolved around adventuring by day and playing tunes around campfires by night, ‫the time has come for the birds to leave the nest and share their music with the world‪

‪With a dynamic mix of sentimentality and playfulness, the Birds of Play's original music will take you‪ on a joyous journey filled with tales of love lost and found, ballads of wild places, and the radical idea that being happy for no reason at all is reason enough.

Add in an eclectic blend of covers and crowd-inclusive banter and an evening with the Birds of Play will surely leave you feeling all the feelings and wanting more.

‫Influences include the Wood Brothers, Gregory Alan Isakov, Mandolin Orange, and so so many more.

Live Music: Russick Smith

Russick Smith is multi-instrumentalist who walks between sentimental acoustic arrangements and modern electronic landscapes drawing inspiration from artists such as Air, Tin Hat Trio, and Edgar Meyer. In his live performances, Smith moves from soloist to orchestra when he begins to layer his cello to create ethereal atmospheres, augments those layers using mandolin, concertina, glockenspiel, guitar, and bass, then moves beyond looping to present more complex, genre-bending compositions. He has played for the Governor of Colorado, heads of the National Endowment for the Arts and Americans for the Arts, and acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In 2016, Smith was awarded “Best in Class” at the 2016 Vertex Musical Championships and winner of 2017 Breck’s Got Talent. He has additionally appeared as presenter at the Colorado Music Convergence, been featured on KDVR Denver’s “Everyday” show, and been hailed by the Denver Post as a “don’t-miss promise” for his performances with his group Tree-o.

Live Music: Alicia Stockman

Alicia is a singer and songwriter who is passionate about the power of music. She prefers to sing to people, as opposed to singing at them. Alicia does everything in her power to connect with her audience through memories, experiences, and passion. In a world where music can be “made” at the push of a button, Alicia is an advocate of bringing society back to its roots through the experience of pure, raw music. Alicia has always been profoundly influenced by the likes of Patty Griffin, the Indigo Girls, and Susan Tedeschi – all strong female vocalists and songwriters. She takes inspiration from stories, places, and memories to craft songs that draw listeners into an emotional journey. “These are songs about moments – moments that seem fleeting at the time, but we soon come to see them as a major turning point in our lives – that these small moments represent so much more.” Stockman described.
